Elite Driver Training – Booking Terms & Conditions
By booking a driving lesson, assessment or coaching session with Elite Driver Training, you agree to the following terms and conditions.
Licence requirements
Clients must hold a current and valid driver licence appropriate for the vehicle and type of training being undertaken. The licence must be available for inspection when requested.
Client vehicles
Where a client chooses to use their own vehicle, it must be roadworthy, registered, hold a current Warrant of Fitness where required, and comply with all legal requirements.
Elite Driver Training reserves the right to refuse or discontinue a lesson where the vehicle is considered unsafe, unsuitable or not legally compliant.
Where a lesson cannot proceed because the client's vehicle does not meet these requirements, the normal lesson or cancellation charge may still apply.
Elite Driver Training vehicles
Clients using an Elite Driver Training vehicle must follow all instructions given by the instructor and take reasonable care of the vehicle.
The client may be responsible for costs arising from deliberate, reckless or negligent actions, subject to the applicable insurance policy and circumstances of the incident.
Traffic infringements
Clients are responsible for any traffic infringements, tolls or other penalties resulting directly from their driving during a lesson or coaching session where legally applicable.
Safety
Safety takes priority at all times.
Elite Driver Training may stop or terminate a lesson where the instructor considers that continuing would create an unacceptable safety risk.
Booking requests and confirmation
Submitting an online booking is a request only. Martin must approve the appointment before it can be confirmed. For chargeable lessons, approval is followed by a secure Stripe payment request and the booking becomes confirmed after payment is successfully recorded. For prepaid AA Defensive Driving Module 5 bookings, no additional payment or second confirmation step is required; Martin’s approval confirms the appointment and a confirmation email is sent.
Cancellations and rescheduling
Please provide as much notice as possible if you need to cancel or reschedule your lesson. Contact Martin by phone, email or WhatsApp where online rescheduling is unavailable.
Please provide at least 24 hours’ notice where possible. Online rescheduling requests close 24 hours before the lesson; contact Martin directly for changes within that period. Late cancellations, missed appointments or no-shows may incur a reasonable fee of up to the lesson price where permitted by law. Please contact Martin if you have exceptional circumstances. If EDT cancels or cannot provide the agreed lesson, we will arrange an alternative or an appropriate refund in line with consumer law.
Payments and refunds
Fees are shown in New Zealand dollars. Where online payment is required, Elite Driver Training will send a secure Stripe Checkout link after Martin approves the booking request. Card details are entered directly into Stripe's hosted checkout and are not stored by Elite Driver Training. A booking requiring payment is confirmed only after successful payment has been recorded. Stripe Checkout links are time-limited; if a link expires or you have difficulty paying, contact Martin rather than creating a duplicate booking.
Refunds and any reasonable cancellation charges will be handled according to these terms and applicable New Zealand consumer law. Approved refunds may be returned through the original Stripe payment method where appropriate.
Some services, including AA Defensive Driving Module 5 observational drives, may already have been prepaid as part of a course. Prepaid Module 5 bookings do not require another payment; once Martin approves the requested time, the appointment is confirmed. A resit or additional drive may require a separate fee.
Personal information and training records
Elite Driver Training collects information necessary to manage bookings, provide driver training and maintain appropriate training records.
Information will be handled in accordance with applicable New Zealand privacy requirements.
